Hey guys! I’ve been M.I.A. lately, have you missed me? For some reason last week, what with the election and the subsequent meltdown of half of our country, it just didn’t seem like a good time to be all “OMG y’all! Crisis with the paint colorsssss!” So I took a lil break from blogging. Also, there has been some major drama with the contract and the buyers for our house, wherein our deal was as fragile as a millenial’s tender heart and very close to falling through. Thankfully I think it’s all resolved now, so I’m proceeding on in a state of blissfully ignorant optimism and making plans for the rest of our renovation of the new house. Which, of course, leads me to the next blatant vote solicitation on the best paint colors for a toddler girl’s room.
As I mentioned before, LC’s new room is a blueish color that simply will not work for my princess. I wrangled five million paint swatches, and have narrowed it down to the options below. Please, please cast your vote and help the indecisive mind of a crazy person with too many self-imposed “to-dos” on her plate!
First, here is a picture of LC’s new room. Again, this is a listing photo and not our furniture. How many coats do you think that blue is going to require? *crying face emoji*
You may remember the tour of The Princessory, and I plan on (at least for now) using the same furniture in her new room. This is kinda causing me a prob, because I originally wanted to use a lilac-ish color for her walls, but I don’t think it will look great with the cherry wood in her room. These are the top contenders for the lilac-ish color. (If they all look the same on your computer screen, my B!)
Of these I feel like Lavender Mist might be my favorite? I like Stardust Evening, but it almost looks a little mauve-y to me at times. Purples are a fine line for me because they can very easily slip into blue and/or greyish, depresso colors and I’m so not into that. Or should I skip this color all together and go with my other option… a lovely greenish-greyish color.
In the pics above I like Mint Condition the best, but then I saw this picture of a nursery from Two Make a Home that used Sea Salt and it makes me swoon. And need white furniture.
I’m also kinda tempted to just chuck it all and do white walls (despite my obvious horror with the thought of crusty toddler hands soiling every square inch below three feet off of the floor) because I’m absolutely in LOVE with this nursery that Brooke at Start at Home Décor featured. I’m not close to kidding when I say that I need those gold vinyl wall dots. It’s not even optional at this point. And how perfect is the “Willow” sign that Brooke made? #loveit #needit
So what do you think are the best paint colors for a toddler girl’s room? One of the lovely lilacs? How about one of the great greyish greens? Or should I get wild with white?! Hellllllp!

First off, if LC decides to crayon the walls or smear something bad on them, it is NOT going to look worse on white than it will on “mint condition” or “lavender mist”. Second, I think the dots will become “dated” quickly, but that won’t matter as I’m sure you will redo her room before the sun sets on her second birthday. Third, I dance better than I pick paint colors…..So…..there doesn’t need to be a forth! Love you, Auntie Cyn

We are going to be moving my young toddler into a new room soon, and I have been trying to decide what I want to do with the her room myself. I am IN. LOVE. with the photo from Two Make a Home. I *think* (although I would have to double check) that we repainted our master bath in Sea Salt earlier in the summer. My daughter’s furniture is distressed white, and I’ve actually been thinking about going with light gray. I just don’t know. You have some great options though! I think the mint would be striking with the cherry furniture. Love your blog! Glad I found it. 🙂
